About us and our approach
Why choose us? We understand it can be a difficult decision on choosing the perfect alternative provision for our young people. We focus on having a child centred approach, we are here to give our young people a voice and support them on their educational journey. Our mission is to give our young people some control over their future and allow them to thrive in a comfortable setting.
Imagine a unique educational environment where students not only receive academic support but also gain essential life skills through hands-on experiences. Our alternative provision program offers a holistic teaching approach throughout all of our workshops, incorporating a huge variety of life skills .
At Skills4life we offer an educational experience in a home from home setting, we go beyond academics to cultivate well-rounded individuals equipped with practical life skills.
Through cooking skills, workshops, martial arts, travel training, arts and crafts and so much more activities, we empower students to thrive academically, socially, and personally, setting them on a path toward success in all aspects of life.
We also encourage parents, guardians and educational settings to keep up to date with their young persons progress by requesting a copy of their individual ‘smart’ goals, these will be set within their first week and are completely catered for that specific young person.

At skills4life we provide a resilience building environment, our mission is to provide young people with skills that they can use as a young person right through to adulthood. Our initial phasing in stage can be 1 to 1 relationship building with our experienced mentors to ensure we set the perfect ‘smart’ goals for each young person, as we understand not every goal or need will be the same. In our alternative educational setting we will encourage young people to step outside of their comfort zone to reach the potential that we know every young person has, we take a therapeutic approach looking at the young person as a whole and not just their reasoning for not attending mainstream school, we find that by doing this we are able to really connect with our young people and therefor get the best out them.
